A different kind of sequence
Scorpion on wybx66.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. The tableau has seven columns. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game.
Read the opening cards
Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. All cards in the last three columns are face up. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Three cards remain in the stock.
Build in the same suit
Here are the details for this mode. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades.
Move exposed groups
A few details help explain this feature. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule.
The empty-column rule
Keep these points in mind. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence.
Reveal the hidden cards
A few details help explain this feature. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. The next hidden card is revealed automatically.
The final three cards
The stock contains one final deal of three cards. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty.
Collect ordered runs
A few details help explain this feature. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.
Practice Scorpion decisions
A few details help explain this feature. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation.
